Benjamin Avery first met Amelia in 1900 at her family’s summer garden party. If Amelia’s father had not insisted his employees be treated to a bit of the good life, they never would have met. They spend one golden summer together before Amelia disappears from Benjamin’s life.
Now, ten years later, they meet again, both guests at the country estate of Henry and Charlotte Easton. Benjamin is an English professor with a serious bout of writer’s block, and Amelia is now Mrs. James Daughton, and carries with her a dark secret that only her trusted lady’s maid Ivy Morgan knows. Under the hazy gauze of summer days, old feelings rekindle, and old wounds resurface. And when Amelia’s husband is found dead, only Benjamin, Amelia, and Ivy know the truth behind his demise.
Always Summer is the story of a troubled marriage, as seen through the eyes of Ivy Morgan and Benjamin Avery.
